Journalist and documentary filmmaker Amelia Deschamps received an award “for her invaluable contribution to the cultural and artistic heritage of the country, as well as for her contribution in search of improvements for a better nation”, according to the document delivered by the Bonao Foundation for Culture.
“I receive this recognition with a sense of humility and great responsibility,” said Deschamps, “I feel extremely honored and committed to continue working for the causes I believe in, with the tools I have at my disposal to do so,” she added.
A delegation from the Foundation surprised the journalist with the recognition at the end of the presentation of the documentary “In Search of the Blue Heart” at the Plaza de la Cultura Museum in Bonao, where Amelia Deschamps is from. The event was organized by Seguros Sura.
