Lack of digital skills and media illiteracy, challenges for Dominicans in the face of AI.
According to studies, up to 300 million jobs could be displaced by 2030 due to the incorporation of intelligent systems and automation in various industries.
ACENTO -1 August, 2024.
Said Saillant, a comprehensive expert in Artificial Intelligence, warned about the challenges faced by the Dominican Republic to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Artificial Intelligence.
During his participation in the program Se Vale Preguntar (It’s Worth Asking) with Amelia Deschamps, the specialist Saillant stressed that in the country “there is a lack of development of digital skills, simply (knowing) how to use a computer properly” is one of the barriers to overcome, said the expert. This lack significantly limits the country’s ability to take advantage of the opportunities offered by AI and becomes an obstacle to its technological development.
